Ten national park agents from Senegal and The Gambia shall now be monitoring and inventorying dolphins in the Saloum Delta. The ten successfully completed a two-week Dolphin monitoring course in Toubacouta, Senegal on 30th May to 16th June 2011. The training course ended with a colorful closing ceremony where the park agents officially received certificates and equipment to begin their work. The training is a part of a BIOMAC and WWF WAMER partnership establishing baseline information on aquatic mammals along the Senegalese and Gambian the coast. The baseline data shall form the backbone of a dolphin conservation plan.
