Ten Gambian and Senegalese national park agents trained in Dolphin Data Collection.

Ten national park agents from Senegal and The Gambia shall now be monitoring and inventorying dolphins in the Saloum Delta. The ten successfully completed a two-week Dolphin monitoring course in Toubacouta, Senegal on 30th May to 16th June 2011. The training course ended with a colorful closing ceremony where the park agents officially received certificates and equipment to begin their work. The training is a part of a BIOMAC and WWF WAMER partnership establishing baseline information on aquatic mammals along the Senegalese and Gambian the coast. The baseline data shall form the backbone of a dolphin conservation plan.
